Engine Creative

Engine Creative is a design agency in Northampton where I worked for almost three years as a front-end web developer. My role was primarily a “PSD to WordPress” service, taking the Photoshop visuals created by the designers and building bespoke WordPress sites.

During my time at Engine Creative, I was able to work on a range of website design and development projects for clients around Northampton and also large international brands:

  • BBC Top Gear
  • The Open University
  • Steffans the Jewellers
  • Decca Records
  • Sony Ericsson
  • Errol Flynn Filmhouse
  • Elior UK
  • Mazda
  • Benefit Cosmetics
  • The Portsmouth Grammar School

Whilst my involvement in these was in a front-end developer capacity, I led on many of the WordPress website builds. Other projects I worked on at Engine Creative included Facebook applications, HTML email templates for MailChimp, digital publishing products and interactive advertising for the iPad.

As with any website, these projects required a high level of attention to detail, HTML and CSS expertise, proficiency with Javascript and jQuery, as well as a rigorous website testing checklist.

As of November 2013, I left my role at Engine Creative to fulfil an ambition of working for myself as a freelance web developer, providing graphic design and web development services to small businesses, local organisations and other design agencies.

If you’d like to find out more about my skill set, my experience at Engine Creative or perhaps you have a web design project you need my help with, please feel free to get in touch.
